Circa 1930s Seikosha wall clock with wood frame and metal face western numbers. , Kintaro Hattori established Seikosha in Tokyo, Japan, where he produced his first wall clocks, marking the beginnings of a company that was to become one of the world’s largest and most important manufacturers of timepieces.
This clock was designed for use in public buildings such as schools or railway stations across the British colonies; therefore its reliability and quality of construction were paramount. This clock is of very good quality and it was constructed prior to wartime restrictions were imposed regarding materials; therefore no costs were spared in its construction.
