Brother is a Japanese electronics company which was founded in 1908; as Yasui Sewing Machine Co. Their first US affiliated offices were established in 1954 and the corporate name was changed to Brother Industries Co in 1962. Brother International Corporation became the US subsidiary of the Japan based company and the first Brother typewriter was produced in 1961. Since then, Brother is producing a variety of home, office and business products such as multifunction printers, sewing machines, home computers, knitting machines, machine tools and other domestic appliances.
The present typewriter is the name variant of the Webster which was manufactured by Brother Industries in Japan, by the end of 1960s. Brother offered similar machine under various labels including Brother itself, Webster and Wizard Truetype. It was considered to be an economic machine in its time. It was an ultra-portable design with a smooth profile. It came with 2- color ribbon and line drawing aperture.
The body is sleek blue in color, all steel and glossy in texture. The typewriter is present in excellent condition, with no damage to the body. It comes with the original black carrying case. It is an aesthetically pleasing machine that can impart flair and color to your study, library or bedroom.
