Durst Phototechnik AG is an Italian company that was established by two brothers Gilbert and Julius Durst in 1936. They were photography enthusiasts and the company specialized in photographic products and printing equipment.
The company was well known for its high quality enlargers, which are specialized transparency projectors which use glass negatives, films or transparencies to produce photographic prints. The production of enlargers by Durst was halted in 2006 owing to widespread minilabs and digital imaging. The outstanding fact about the success of the Durst products is that they have about 500 patents for specialized products and designs of enlargers and their sales peaked in 1979. The company still exists and has expanded its range to label, ceramic, textile, large format and industrial printing.
On offer here is the Durst M670 BW enlarger, which has a square profile column with height in inches and centimeters. It has a coated baseboard and height adjustment is possible with toothed rack, there is an adjustment knob on the left and right of the lens board for fine focusing with bellows and has a black and white condenser lamp.
