Description
Elmo, is a Japanese company initially named ‘Sakaki Shokai’, established by Hidenobu Sakaki in 1921. It produced its very first 16 mm projector in 1927. It was renamed to G. K. Elmo-sha in 1933. The name is an acronym for ‘Electricity Light Machine Organization.’ It is an optics and electronics company which specializes in projectors, cameras and presentation devices. It claims to produce the top range of electronics used in education industry for more than 96 years. It produced its first overhead projector in 1969 and continues its motto in producing quality products to be used in educational institutes, government and law enforcement agencies, etc.
On offer here is the ELMO 16 CL, it was a particularly popular one among film / camera collectors, since it was the first in a long-running line of projectors that ELMO introduced, with minor modifications, using this one as the base model for specialty models to be produced later. The device supported audio output. It was a precision engineered projector which gave high quality picture and sound reproduction.
