The book contains 128 pages, and includes dozens of illustrations by Harrison Weir and others. The book is approximately 5.4 inches wide, 7.1 inches tall, and 0.6 inches thick.

The book is in very good condition. The boards exhibit some scuff marks; the designs and gilt titling are slightly faded. Board corners and spine ends are slightly frayed. The binding is solid. Page edges are darkened. Internally the book is in great shape. There is a gift inscription on the front free endpaper, and some foxing to the endpapers. Apart from this the text is in excellent condition, with no tears, scribbles, bends, or other major defects and only the lightest and sporadic of foxing.
