- Empire made
- For 2×2 slides
- Condition (In our opinion): 8/10
- Item Code: PRJ 220
The 35 mm color slide photography became a thing of mushrooming popularity in the 1950s to 60s era and lead to the establishment of an entire industry for the production of slide mounts and projectors. Slide viewers are handheld devices which can be used for viewing photographic images and film transparencies either by individual viewing or using an incorporated light source.
The current item is the Halina viewer for color slides which was quite famous back in the 60s. They were simple battery operated and magnifying lens equipped with slides mounted into the top slot and light fell from the source from the opposite end. It has a plastic gray body with black front and has two polished coated lenses.
This particular slide viewer is present in an overall good condition, with no apparent damage to the body or lenses, only slight discoloration of the body. It comes with original slightly worn out packaging. It was a common practice especially in UK, where slide viewers were used to view family photos as they gave a clear picture once they were supplied with a light source. They can still be found in vintage shops; and are a great buy if one wants to relive the memories of old times.
