Do you want to become a proud owner of the ancestor of snapshots? If your answer is ‘yes’ then the vintage Brownie box camera is something you should get hold of! With the introduction of the Kodak Brownie box cameras the concept of ‘snapshots’ was popularized not just amongst professional photographers but also in common people. Initially introduced in the beginning of 1900s by Frank A. Brownwell, the approach was to introduce an inexpensive but high quality hand held camera readily available and easily accessible.
Initially, the company designed and targeted primarily for children; as Brownies were named after Disney characters created by Palmer Cox. However, they were extensively marketed successfully for everyone; shipping 150,000 cameras in the very first year. Advertised in international magazines they became a colossal success and the sale was further encouraged by attracting young users by forming the Brownie Camera Club.
Popular choice for capturing the most memorable moments and special occasions; owning a Brownie is indeed a personally valued and cherished treasure not only for you, but also a memorabilia for your kid!
