Reference Code: BKS 1111
Offered here is ‘Other Men’s Minds, or, Seven Thousand Choice Extracts on History, Science, Philosophy, Religion, etc., Selected from the Standard Authorship of Ancient and Modern Times, and Classified in Alphabetical Order’, by E. Davies. The book is undated, but was likely published in the late 19th or early 20th century by Frederick Warne and Co; 37 pages of prefatory matter are followed by 640 pages of text. More than 1000 authors are represented in this book, ranging from the Greek fabulist Aesop to the Prophet Muhammad. The book is approximately 6.1 inches wide, 8.3 inches wide, and 1.7 inches thick.
The book is in good condition. The boards exhibit some bumping, along with fraying to the corners, edges, and spine ends. The spine has some small tears at the ends. The binding is solid, though the hinges are slightly weak. Page edges are scuffed. The front and rear free endpapers are slightly chipped. The half-title and last page are browned. There are page creases and bends to a number of pages. But overall the book is sound, with no tears, scribbles, foxing, or other major defects to the internal pages.
