POCKET KIPLING SERIES (BKS 1073)
Reference Code: BKS 1073
On offer here are 21 out of the 34 volumes published by Macmillan in their Pocket Kipling series. These hardbacks are reprints dating from 1918-1937, and each book contains a few hundred pages. Several volumes are illustrated, usually by Kipling himself or his father John Lockwood Kipling. Each volume is approximately 4.5 inches wide, 6.8 inches tall, and 0.5 inches thick.
Most of these books are in good condition, and exhibit minor wear of some kind. The bindings are all solid, with some wear, fraying, or creases to the board edges and spine ends. Gilt titling and designs to the covers and top edges are slightly faded, but still bright. The boards display scuff marks and creases on occasion. Some volumes are slightly cocked. Internally all books have a previous owner’s ink inscription on the front free endpaper, but the rest of the texts are clean, and there are no page tears or loose pages. One volume is missing an illustration. There is minor foxing and some small page bends to some of the pages in some of the volumes. But overall these volumes are clean, solid, and it is difficult to find a collection of so many volumes of this series in this condition.
