An iconic name in the history of still photography: ‘Polaroid’– was founded by Edwin H. Land in 1926; who patented the first ever synthetic polarizer. The company has been a most trusted global brand for more than 75 years; and pioneered in instant photography. The first instant camera was introduced in 1943 by Polaroid; it was a technology which revolutionized the history of photography as it used a self-developing film that can produce a chemically developed film almost instantly after taking the picture.
The company started distributing eyewear and consumer electronics and was run by the founder till 1981, however, it faced downfall in 2001. The present day Polaroid Corporation produces a wide range of quality products including digital and instant still cameras, tablets, high-definition TVs, mountable sport video cameras, mobile apps and apparel.
On offer here is the Polaroid Impulse instant camera, which was introduced probably in 1980s. It was a gray and black camera. It was designed for the Polaroid 600 series integral film and it featured a non-folding plastic body with single element plastic and fixed focus lens. This model was introduced in three other colors, gray, red and yellow, as well. It was made of hard wearing plastic, a rubber grip on the rear, the flash-ready light, which could be raised by pressing down the top unit and retract lens cover.
This particular camera does not have any major damage except a few scratches on the back of the camera. A classic Polaroid camera which is must-have for all the instant camera enthusiasts. Own it before someone else does!
