SOME RARE PORTRAITS AND WASLIS
- Signed by the author Hirananda Sastri.
- 9 pages of text and 10 plates reproducing specimens of calligraphy and paintings
- Rough condition
Signed by the author Hirananda Sastri, this booklet contains 9 pages of text and 10 plates reproducing specimens of calligraphy and paintings. Hirananda Sastri was retired “Director of Archaeology, Baroda State & Government Epigraphist for India”.
The booklet contains the reprinted text of an article originally printed in the “New Indian Antiquary” (Vol.III, No.8, November 1940), and retains the original pagination (pp.257-265). Part of the title page was removed and glued to the front card covers, and it is upon this that the author has signed his name.
The booklet is in rough condition. Tears, frays, and creases mark the soft cardboard covers, which are partially detached from the main text. Internally there is some minor wormholing and foxing, but the booklet is complete and perfectly readable.
