THE RISE OF THE DUTCH REPUBLIC BY JOHN LOTHROP MOTLEY (BKS 1007)
Reference Code: BKS 1007
‘The Rise of the Dutch Republic’ by John Lothrop Motley was first published in 1855. On offer here is a handsomely bound reprint, complete in three volumes, and published by Henry Frowde/Oxford University Press in the World’s Classics series in 1906.
The books are in good condition. The boards display creases, tears and rubbing to the edges, corners, and on the spine. Gilt titling is still faded, though still bright. The bindings are solid. Page edges have some scuff marks and foxing. Internally the books are in good shape, with only some page bends and foxing to the front and rear of the volumes marring the text, which is other wise free of markings, tears, and other major defects. Each volume is approximately 4.1 inches wide, 6.2 inches tall, and 1.2 inches thick. Pagination is as follows:
Volume 1: xxvi+560
Volume 2: xiv+612
Volume 3: xii+591
