‘THE SHIFTING SAND OF ALGERIA ‘-CHERRY KEARTON (BKS 1076)

Reference Code: BKS 1076

Description

On offer here is ‘The Shifting Sands of Algeria’, by Cherry Kearton, which describes the author’s travels in that region and encounters with Algiers, Roman cities, wildlife, and various peoples. The book was published in London by Arrowsmith in 1924 and contains 307 pages, accompanied by 79 photographs. The book is approximately 6.7 inches wide, 9.1 inches tall, and 1.9 inches thick.
The book is in good condition. Gilt titling to boards and spine is somewhat faded. Boards are slightly bumped and discoloured in places, with fraying at the corners and along the edges. The binding is solid, though the hinges are a bit weak. Page edges exhibit foxing, as do the internal pages. Blacked-out owner stamps appear on the front and rear pastedowns, the title page, and the last index page. Some pages have minor corner bends, but overall the book is in good internal shape, with no tears, scribbles, or major defects.
