‘SPEECHES BY LORD CURZON OF KEDLESTON , VICEROY AND GOVERNOR GENERAL OF INDIA ‘ (BKS 1075)
Reference Code: BKS 1075
This extremely rare collection of Lord Curzon’s speeches was published while Curzon was still Viceroy of India. Titled ‘Speeches by Lord Curzon of Kedleston, Viceroy and Governor General of India’, Volume I covers the period 1898-1900, while Volume II covers 1900-1902. Both volumes were published in Calcutta by the ‘Office of the Superintendent of Government Printing’. Volume I was published in 1900; Volume II was published in 1902. Each volume is approximately 5.8 inches wide, 8.5 inches tall, and 1.2 inches thick. Pagination is as follows:
Volume I: xxvi+346
Volume II: iii+492
The books are in good condition. The boards are scuffed, and corners and edges are frayed. Gilt titling is still bright, though faded in places. The bindings (which seem not be original) are solid. Page edges evince foxing. Both volumes have partially erased owner stamps to title and content pages. The front free endpaper for Volume I is clipped. Both volumes have the occasional foxing to the internal pages, and a few page bends, but otherwise they are in good internal condition, with no tears, markings, or other significant defects.
