ZEISS IKON TROPONEN SONNET 303
- Tropicalized teak wood body
- Made by Carl Zeiss, between 1927-1930
- Zeiss-Ikon lens no. 258646
- Dial-set Compur shutter
- Original pouch and two metal plates included
This strut-folding plate camera’s compact size belies its early 20th century roots: this rare, tropicalized model from the Sonnet series was manufactured at some point between 1927-1930. Its authentic German construction (Carl Zeiss, no less) features a polished wooden teak body with nickel metal fittings and brown leather bellows. Bellows cameras in this size are very rare.
Equipped with a Zeiss-Ikon lens no. 258646 and a Compur shutter, this camera has a rising front movement. Also included with it are two metallic Carl Zeiss branded plates and the original Carl Zeiss branded pouch with soft purple fabric lining. The pouch shows some degree of wear and tear but still suffices in protecting its contents from the elements.
Condition: 8/10 (pouch: 4/10)
