Sharp; Osaka (J), Founded in 1912 by Tokuji Hayakawa in Tokyo, who made a name for himself with the “Sharp Pencil” mechanical pencil, after the farsighted patron recognized the importance of the radio, he became one of the largest Japanese radio producers. Radio production resumed after the Second World War and Sharp built up a large market especially in the field of black and white and then color television.
